Recovery and Status/Healing Items for Persona 3 Reload
To avoid an early game over, it’s important to keep your party healed and free of status effects. These items bought in stores and dropped by Tartarus are the most important parts of any ready explorer’s backpack:
Medicine: The most basic tool for restoring HP, it heals 50 HP each time it is used. Find them at the Aohige Pharmacy in the Paulownia Mall and buy them there. Even late in the game, medicine can help you save up higher-value healing items.
Life Stones: Life Stones are useful throughout the adventure because they heal 30% of the user’s maximum health, which is different from flat healing items. Once you reach Block 2, they often drop from monsters in Tartarus.
Band Aces : Brings friends back to life with 50% health. The Aohige Pharmacy sells Band Aces at a low price. In later games, Revival Beads can be used instead of Band Aces to get the same result as Tartarus drops.
Soul Drops: These valuable items give you 10 SP, which lets you use more skills and magic. It’s too bad that Soul Drops can only be found in item chests deep inside Tartarus. Stock up as soon as you find them!
Dis-Poison: Gets rid of poisoning, which makes you lose health slowly during fight. You can get Dis-Poison at the drugstore or the Baisudi Gem in Tartarus to heal yourself from poison and other Status Effects.
Homunculus: Instant death attacks from dark magic or critical hits will kill a party member right away if they don’t have a Homunculus with them. Every one of them can stop a deathblow.
Trafuri Gem: This is the panic button for a group that is really afraid. Using a Trafuri Gem will safely teleport your group back to the door to Tartarus. But most bosses make it impossible to leave. Another valuable drop from Tartarus.
Persona 3 Reload: How to Get the Best Damage from Your Battle Weapons
Each character is good at using a certain kind of weapon that strikes a good mix between damage and attributes. Equipping them builds on their natural strengths:
The Fists of Akihiko
- Sonic Fist: These are stylish red boxing gloves that can give you the Fear state, which stops attacks. Bought at the police station.
- Bladefist: Gives up some usefulness in exchange for the best raw attack damage of any early weapon. Another police station-only item.
Bows from Yukari
- Poison Arrow Bow: Yukari’s arrows will continue to poison enemies for a while, slowly killing them. Found early on in treasure boxes in Tartarus.
- Toy Bow: Enemies have a bad name for this weapon, but it’s accurate, powerful, and can give enemies the Rage status. What Elizabeth’s quest earned her.
Makoto’s Weapons
Gladius: It is an early short sword that gives +10 HP. It helps to have more health during long boss fights. You can buy it at Officer Kurosawa’s store.
Fudo Masamune: It doesn’t do anything special, but it gives you great base attack for 10 hours. The officer Kurosawa keeps this sword on hand.
The Swords of Junpei
Kishido Blade: Junpei likes big swords that hit hard over ones that hit accurately. This one also makes defence better! See what Officer Kurosawa has to offer.
Juzumaru: This character doesn’t unlock until late in Tartarus, but it has the best early-game DPS boost and a much higher critical hit rate.
Survival in Persona 3 Reload: Prepare for the Worst
Every night, Tartarus is different, with new riches and traps. Follow these tips to avoid becoming another person the maze claims as its victim:
- Bring things from the Homunculus to fight bosses. When they are low on health, their last desperate attack often kills everyone in the party right away. Get rid of it with Homunculus!
- Escape is important; give weak party members Trafuri Gems so they can heal or revive themselves without help from others. If they get trapped by FOEs while wandering alone, they can teleport out!
- Even after you’ve cleared a room of enemies, be careful when opening chests. They might contain bonus items or gear, but they could also contain status effect traps or cause an unexpected FOE to spawn!
- To make Personas stronger, go to the Velvet Room door at the entrance. You can fix your weaknesses by getting resistances, raising your stats, inheriting better skills, and even making it more likely that Shadows you kill will drop Tartarus items.
Advanced Items for Mid- and Late-Game Preparation in Persona 3
When you finish the first few blocks of Tartarus, more items that can be used to help you explore become available:
- Balms of Life: These heal all of a fighter’s HP and are better than medicines. They can be bought at a pharmacy.
- Snuff Soul: If you use Balms of Life to heal yourself, Snuff Souls will heal you fully. Check the drug store and the prize station in the game centre.
- Void Drop: This skill heals all status effects and gives protection for three turns, which is great for dealing with ambushes. You can find silver boxes in Tartarus.
- Gold insulator: The gold insulator stops the “rust” effect that can damage your most expensive gear and cause it to break. Another metal chest found.
Updating Weapons and Armour in Persona 3 Reload through Crafting
Officer Kurosawa’s shop has sports gear that Makoto can’t normally afford for high school. Once you reach 20 hours, Elizabeth’s weapon master quests will become available. Do them right away to make forged gear that will change the game:
- Challenge quests, like catching certain fish or explaining ideas from gaming history, give you the materials and yen you need to make special weapons with Elizabeth’s help. They are much better than the first products that the cops had in their limited inventory.
- Invest in weapons that can give you extra benefits, like regenerating HP or SP in the middle of a battle so you don’t have to take another turn to use a recovery item. These last through long boss fights.
- As you choose armour, give more weight to resistances to dark element attacks like Curse, Bless, and Severe physical damage. Stopping deaths is more important than giving your defence a small boost.
